Following the displacement of 200,000 Israeli citizens from their homes near Israel’s southern border with Gaza and the northern border with Lebanon, the largest internal displacement in Israel’s history, Brothers and Sisters for Israel launched an initiative to support the food security of these displaced persons and communities.

Food Security For Displaced Communities

For the last 24 days we have provided approximately 150,000 warm meals, supporting more than 9,000 displaced people across the country.

Our main target populations are communities, children, elderly, and families who have been forced to flee their homes and be evacuated to a safer area, all due to the direct impact of the current war and the emergency- life risking situation. Our work has been supported and coordinated with local authorities, city-councils, and partners on-ground.

What have we done so far?

Our initiative

Our initiative focuses on providing hot, nourishing meals to those who have been affected by the conflict. In collaboration with-known organizations such as World Central Kitchen (WCK)  and the Jewish Federations of North America (JFNA), we have been extending a helping hand to those in need during these challenging times. Together with these and other partners, we are bringing sustenance to a sizeable number of displaced Israelis caught in the midst of turmoil.

However, our work is far from over, and we continue to seek additional collaborations and support to expand our reach and provide even more vital aid to the vulnerable communities in these war zones.

Average meal cost  - approximately $10 USD
